WINERY 2015: 7th IWA Specialized Conference on Sustainable Viticulture, Winery Wastes & Agri-industrial Wastewater Management

Short description:

On behalf of the organizing committee, we are pleased to invite you to the 7th IWA Specialized Conference on Sustainable Viticulture, Winery Wastes and Agri-Industrial Wastewater Management: Winery 2015 to be held in Stellenbosch, South Africa from 1 – 5 November 2015. Since 1998, the above bi-annual event has been held in wine-making countries around the world, including Chile, France, Italy, and Spain. We are pleased to announce that for the first time in Africa, South Africa has been designated as the host country for this prestigious international conference. The need for this type of forum is growing as global warming, water scarcity, market forces and environmental awareness are placing increasing pressure on the wine and related industries to adopt environmentally friendly and sustainable practices. We are looking forward to welcoming you to Winery2015 that will held in the historical town of Stellenbosch in the heart of the South African Winelands. The scientific programme will provide a balance between original research and commercial applications of scientific research and topics/issues with generic appeal, including effluent characterisation, waste management, aerobic and anaerobic treatment processes, irrigation with wastewater, wastewater quality improvement, sustainable viticulture and oenology, solid waste treatment and by-product recovery, environmental assessment, technology transfer from the winery as well as other relevant agri-industries. The programme will also include a technical tour.
